Nostalgic shoppers are thrilled by news that a decade after closing down most of its locations, beloved Canadian department store Zellers is making a comeback next year.
The discount chain, a shopping mall staple in the 90’s, will debut a new e-commerce website and expand its brick-and-mortar footprint in select Hudson’s Bay department stores across Canada early next year. Consumers are looking to save money as inflation soars.
“Very soon, shoppers from coast to coast will have more ways to shop one of HBC’s most beloved brands,” announced The Bay’s parent company.
The company has yet to release how many physical shops will exist or where they’ll be located.
The return comes during an ongoing lawsuit over a Quebec family’s use of the Zellers brand.
