WAS IT DIONNE OR GLADYS?

In 1968 Dionne Warwick found fame singing Burt Bacharach’s “Do You Know the Way to San Jose.”

But despite the fame and fortune earned over the course of a 50-year career, Warwick was mistaken for Gladys Knight during TV coverage of the U-S Open Tennis Tournament.

Dionne thinks the reporter was caught up in unfortunate set of circumstances where the camera was on Gladys, but switched to Dionne just as the reporter was announcing Gladys Knight

Not everyone is buying that story with many thinking the time between Dionne popping up on screen and Gladys getting name-dropped is telling.

To settle the matter, Dionne took to twitter to say “A Little Prayer for You” instead of taking Gladys’s “Midnight Train to Georgia.”
