Voting has ended in the federal Conservative party’s leadership race.

But members still need to wait until Saturday to find out who will succeed Erin O’Toole.

Ballots had a deadline of 5 p.m. Tuesday in order to be counted in time for the September 10th announcement.

The five hopefuls are Pierre Poilievre, Jean Charest, Leslyn Lewis, Scott Aitchison and Roman Baber, but there is every indication Poilievre will come out on top.

Patrick Brown was disqualified earlier in the race and decided to move ahead with a re-election run as mayor of Brampton.

Candice Bergen, who took over the role of interim leader after O’Toole was ousted in February, has announced she will not run in the next federal election.
