Mourners continue to file past the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II in London’s 900 year old Westminster Hall.
The queue to see the Queen’s coffin at one point Thursday was 6 kilometres in length, as the late monarch lies in state for a period of four days.
King Charles III is spending the day in “private reflection” at his Highgrove residence in western England.
Prince William and his wife, Catherine, are visiting the royal family’s Sandringham estate in eastern England to see some of the tributes left by well-wishers.
The Queen’s state funeral is on Monday.
Canadian MPs will offer tributes to the late monarch in their own way Thursday.
The House Speaker is recalling Members of Parliament early from their summer break for a special sitting of the Commons to commemorate Queen Elizabeth and her 70-year reign.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will open the speeches, and is expected to be followed by the other party leaders and then MPs who want to offer tributes.
The normal operations of the Commons resume on Tuesday, the day after the Queen’s state funeral which will be attended by Prime Minister Trudeau and Governor General Mary Simon.
