While a period of 10 days of mourning for Queen Elizabeth has come to an end in Britain, a memorial service for the Queen is planned Tuesday afternoon in Toronto.

It is set for 3pm at the Cathedral Church of St. James at 106 King St. E. at Church Street.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip attended a service at St. James Cathedral back in 2010.

Just ahead of Tuesday’s service, members of the Royal Canadian Artillery’s 7 Toronto Regiment will fire a 96 gun salute on the lawn of Queen’s Park; one for every year of the Queen’s life.

Monday’s national tribute service at Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa included prayers and memories of the Queen’s many trips to Canada including from former Governor-General Adrienne Clarkson and former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

Monday evening in Britain, King Charles III and other royal family members attended a private interment ceremony for the Queen at the gothic St. George’s chapel at Windsor Castle.

Queen Elizabeth II has been laid to rest with her husband, parents and sister.
