COVID-19 travel restrictions in Canada are no longer in effect.

Travel restrictions tied to the COVID-19 pandemic, including mask mandates, came to an end Saturday.

While the requirements calling for mandatory vaccinations, testing and quarantine of international travellers have been dropped, along with the rules enforcing mask mandates on planes and trains, some travelers at Pearson Airport were still going to wear their masks, citing concerns over a fall spread of the virus.

Toronto visitors Joanne and Ted Parker say they would have preferred to see that particular set of rules stay in place, even if they are still recommended.

Still, federal officials are warning, if COVID makes a return, the restrictions could as well.

Inbound travellers also do not need to fill out the controversial ArriveCan app.
