The Ministry of Health says a problem with the COVID-19 vaccine booking portal has now been fixed. However, it’s unclear exactly when the problem started and how many people were affected.
Some available appointments were hidden and people hoping to book shots reported being unable to find any, despite authorities insisting there was an available supply.
Critics are wondering if the problem discouraged some people from getting vaccinated.
Meantime, some Ontario public health units are warning of increased COVID-19 spread in communities. Some say there are signs of increased transmission and more high-risk cases across the region, along with more outbreaks and hospitalizations from the virus.
