Funerals for the miners who died in the northern Turkey coal mine accident are underway, as the official death toll rose to at least 41.
When the explosion happened Friday night at the Turkish Hard Coal Enterprise mine in Amasra, there were 110 miners working there.
The settlement is located in Bartin, a province along the Black Sea.
According to officials, 11 workers were hurt and taken to the hospital while 58 others either managed to escape the mine on their own or were saved uninjured.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, showed up on the scene on Saturday after tweeting that any negligence would result in punishment.
