A person suspected of fatally stabbing a Burnaby RCMP officer is being charged with first-degree murder.
Jongwon Ham has been charged one day after 31-year-old Constable Shaelyn Yang was killed on the job after responding to a call at a homeless campsite.
Meanwhile, political leaders expressed their condolences in the House of Commons today.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says his heart goes out to the family of the officer and communities across the country, who are grieving murdered police officers.
Authorities confirm Constable Yang was stabbed to death.
