The Canadian Union of Public Employees, that represents 55,000 Ontario early childhood educators, educational assistants and custodians, says a strike it has planned for Friday will continue ”until further notice.”
Until now, CUPE had not said if the planned job action would be for just the one-day or longer.
But Laura Walton, president of CUPE’s Ontario School Board of Unions, now says it will be on strike indefinitely.
That’s of course unless they reach an agreement, which she says remains top priority.
”We are laser focused on getting a deal. We’ve made significant moves in all areas in hopes of reaching a deal,” Walton adds.
