Following a months-long shortage of popular children’s pain and fever medication that’s sent parents and grand-parents scouring for product, emergency supplies are expected to soon arrive at overwhelmed hospitals.
Health Canada says special imports of ibuprofen from the U.S. are awaiting distribution, while acetaminophen from Australia is nearly here.
The federal agency is not saying how much was expected or how it will be shared among hospitals, but promises ”fair distribution” across Canada.
Health Canada attributes the problem to ”unprecedented demand since the summer,” with stock ”limited” at stores and hospitals in various parts of the country.
