Bob McGrath, an actor, singer, and children’s book author who was most remembered for playing one of the earliest recurring characters on “Sesame Street,” has passed away at the age of 90.
His family announced his passing on Sunday in a message on his Facebook page.
Sesame Workshop tweeted Sunday evening that it “mourns the passing of Bob McGrath, a beloved member of the Sesame Street family for over 50 years.”
McGrath was an original cast member of “Sesame Street” when the show premiered in 1969.
Bob McGrath is survived by his wife, Ann Logan Sperry, and their five children.
