Bail hearings are scheduled for later this month for four of the eight teenage girls facing second-degree murder charges in the December 18 death of a homeless man in University Avenue – York Street area.

Police allege three 13-year-olds, three 14-year-olds and two 16-year-old girls swarmed and stabbed the 59-year-old man, who died later in hospital.

One of the girls is set to appear in court for a bail hearing January 20, two others on January 25 and another January 27.

One of the girls, who’s already out on bail, is due to return to court next week.

The three remaining girls are to appear January 25th to set dates for their bail hearings.
