Some good news to report on the condition of Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin.
He opened his eyes last night and is responsive to loved ones by gripping the hands of family members at his hospital bedside.
Doctors at the Cincinnati Medical Centre say the 24-year-old has shown remarkable improvement and that while he’s still critically ill, it appears there is no neurological damage.
Doctors say communicating through writing, Damar asked who won Monday night’s game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals. Doctors were quick to point out that the Bills safety won the game of life.
The health update comes as the Bills were scheduled to return to practice for the first time since Hamlin collapsed when his heart stopped after making a tackle during the first quarter of Buffalo’s game against the Bengals Monday night. He had to be resuscitated on the field.
The league confirmed on Thursday that it will not resume Bills-Bengals game.
