There is good news to share from Toronto’s University Health Network after a Code Grey was issued yesterday as UHN experience an outage with its digital systems.
On Tuesday morning, UHN posted the following on their Twitter feed:
The systems at University Health Network will be fully restored by the end of day. We are confident that this was not a cyber attack and work throughout the night has restored virtually all systems and ensured that they are stable.
We thank all of the people who worked throughout the night to ensure that we can be fully operational by end of day.
We also appreciate the work of our colleagues throughout the system who responded by offering help and ensuring that patients with need for emergency care would receive it within Toronto’s hospital system.
Prior to the above post, patients who would be arriving at University Health Network hospitals on Tuesday were advised they should expect delays as UHN experiences an outage with its digital systems.
A Code Grey was issued Monday, after a similar outage at the Hospital for Sick kids last month when a ransomware attack affected its operations.
UHN includes Toronto General, Toronto Western, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute.
