More Canadians blame bad weather and the airlines than government for the Christmas holiday travel mess.
Angus Reid finds one-in-seven blame weather, airlines and rail companies while just one-in-three say the government is on the hook.
And when it comes to fining airlines for failed service, the survey finds half of frequent travellers believe the Canadian Transportation Agency should make airlines pay a penalty even if it means the companies raise ticket prices to cover the fines.
The poll comes in the wake of airline and train delays and cancellations over the holidays that left thousands stranded.
A federal review of the chaos is now underway.
