An interesting item turned up in a thrift shop in Barnsley, England the other day.

It’s a buck-skin shirt thought to be a rare example of clothing made by Indigenous Canadians 170-years ago.

Alice Ledbetter manages the Glass Onion Vintage reseller and after some research suggests it could be from Manitoba.  She says the stitching appears to be the work of the indigenous people in the Red River area.

Rather than resell it, Ledbetter she’d like to see it returned to the community in Canada where she believes it was made.
