It’s an opportunity to review advocacy for older Canadians over the past year and prepare for the year ahead.

The annual general meeting for CARP – A New Vision of Aging – takes place Wednesday at noon at the ZoomerPlex in Zoomer Hall.

The event is sold out for in-person seating, but is available for viewing online.

“I can assure listeners it’s going to be an interesting annual meeting. We have a couple of big surprise announcements to make and then we’re going to close off meeting with a performance by comedian Ron James,” CARP’s Chief Policy and Chief Operating Office Bill VanGorder told Zoomer Radio News.

In addition, CARP President Moses Znaimer will address the gathering.

As a result of the pandemic, CARP has become a digital brand with members engaged online right across the country, more so than before the COVID-19 crisis.

“That’s one of the things we’re going to report on at the meeting,” revealed CARP’s Chief Membership Officer David Cravit, “That’s one of the important things that have developed. We’re not constrained by distance and physical mobility any more so we are able to reach a lot more people.”
