The scientists have studied it and concluded “Good Vibrations” is the world’s happiest song.

British musicologist and university professor, Michael Bonshor says the song ticks all the boxes of his formula; it’s in a major key, has approximately 137 beats per minute and uses seventh chords which add interest.

Good Vibrations was released in 1966 and at the time was the most expensive single ever recorded because of its complex soundscapes.

The song was an an immediate critical and commercial hit, topping the charts in Canada the US and the UK and later becoming widely acclaimed as one of the finest and most important works of the rock  and roll era.
