Peel Regional Police continue the search for a vehicle, stolen in Mississauga over the weekend, which contained a ceremonial headdress belonging to the Nipissing First Nation.

Chief Scott McLeod was in town for the Little Native Hockey League Tournament when his car was take from the parking lot of the Sandman Signature Mississauga Hotel.

Chief McLeod says the headdress is invaluable and took years to research and create.

The headdress bears seven white eagle feathers that signify the commitment a leader makes to lead with responsibility.

Anyone with information or video footage of the incident is being asked to contact Peel Regional Police.
