As the Trudeau government prepares to unveil its budget March 28, a new survey finds half of Canadians believe they’re worse off financially than this time last year.
After a year of inflation not seen since the 1980s, Angus Reid Institute took a pulse of the public and finds half (47%) feel this way, while about two-in-ten (22%) expect things to improve in the next 12-months.
Seven-in-ten (69%) of those who feel things have deteriorated, and expect them to get worse, select cost-of-living and inflation as a top concern.
Those in better financial situations are most likely to choose health-care as the top priority.
