It’s a second Emmy Award for her role as the Dowager Countess of Grantham on the hit period television drama, Downton Abbey.  After winning 2 years ago , Dame Maggie Smith was honoured again last night in Los Angeles.   77 year old Maggie Smith was not at the Emmys to accept her award, which will be added to her collection of 2 previous Emmys, two Academy Awards and 2 Golden Globes.  The big winners at last night’s Emmys were “Homeland” and “Modern Family” taking four each, while the 1960s drama “Mad Men” failed to win in any of the 17 categories for which it was nominated.
