It was Trudeaumania – the next generation – in Mississauga on Thursday night.  Justin Trudeau was flanked by Mayor Hazel McCallion on stage at a Mississauga banquet hall as he spoke to supporters in his bid for the Federal Liberal Leadership.  Mayor Hazel says “Trudeau is a great young man with a great future.”

The eldest son of Pierre Elliot Trudeau was asked about his priorities for the GTA.  The 40 year old Montreal MP explained, “I think the issues facing people in the GTA are very similar to those across the country.  The middle class is getting squeezed out, debts are rising, costs are going up, incomes are stagnating.  We need to make sure we’re creating a strong economy by creating a strong middle class.”

Trudeau visits New Brunswick today,  where he’s expected to receive the endorsement of MP Dominic LeBlanc, a lifelong friend and a one time contender for the party’s top job.
LeBlanc’s late father, former governor general Romeo LeBlanc, served in the cabinet of Trudeau’s late father, former prime minister Pierre Trudeau.
