Disappointing news for fans of author Alice Munro.
The beloved Canadian writer will not be appearing at this year’s International Festival of Authors.
Munro’s long-time friend and editor, Douglas Gibson says “Alice is 81 years old now, and her health is frail, making it impossible for her to attend this event, although she would very much like to be able to do so.”
Those who have purchased tickets will be contacted by the Harbourfront Centre Box Office.
Munro’s appearances have been popular highlights of past editions.
She is a two-time winner of the Giller Prize and 2009 winner of the Man Booker International Prize.
