Alzheimer’s disease is a bigger health issue for women than breast cancer. That’s the finding of a new report from the Alzheimer’s Association in the U.S. Once they reach 60 years of age, women are twice as likely to develop Alzheimer’s than breast cancer. The report says a woman’s estimated chances of developing Alzheimer’s after that is one in six. The report also points out there are two and a half times more women than providing intensive 24-hour care for someone living with Alzheimer’s.
