Today is World Theatre Day.
Created by the International Theatre Institute in 1961, March 27th is celebrated by events around the world. As part of the day, the ITI invites a prominent theatre artist to create and deliver the International Theatre Day Message. This year’s message comes from South African playwright and director Brett Bailey.

Previous messages have come from Laurence Olivier, Judi Dench, Edward Albee, and Canadians Robert LePage and Michel Tremblay.
