Israel is facing rocket attacks from both the Gaza strip in the south and Lebanon in the north this morning.

Hamas has fired hundreds of rockets into southern Israel since Tuesday. But now northern Israel is taking fire from unknown sources in Lebanon. It’s suspected the attacks are coming from an offshoot of al-Qaida that has claimed responsibility for similar attacks in the past.

Most of the incoming rockets are being intercepted, and the Israeli military is reponding with artillery fire against the sites where the attacks are originating.

More than a thousand strikes by Israel have dealt a heavy blow to Hamas leaders. Reports say 95 people have been killed in Gaza, but the Israeli military says it is giving advance warning of its artillery fire to give civilians a chance to flee.
