The two sides in the Gaza conflict have agreed to a humanitarian truce for three days that starts Friday morning.
In a joint statement, the U.S. and U.N. say they’ve received assurance that during this period there would be negotiations on a more durable ceasefire.
The statement was released in New Delhi, where U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was meeting with Indian officials.
This conflict began July 8.
