Wallace Stevens wrote poetry that was inspired by the works of Picasso – and Allen Ginsberg was inspired by Cezanne.

But could the magic – inspired by art, happen in Montreal?

20 writers were invited by The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts to tour its galleries and search for inspiration.

Among them, prominent Quebec novelist and playwright Michel Tremblay found himself moved by a 1931 painting by Andre Bieler titled “The Shoe.”

Oil paintings by Paul Cezanne and Emily Carr and a painted model of a snowmobile – inspired the creativity of other writers.

Readings of the works will take place September 13th – in the form of a stroll through the Museum – with texts to be  exhibited beside their respective art works until September 21st.
