A Quebec City fire that erupted around 1pm this afternoon – at the Musee de la Civilisation – is reported to be under control.
Approximately 50 firefighters were summoned to the location in the old part of the city.
The building is under renovation and because it’s closed on Mondays, there were no visitors today.
There are no reports of injuries and it is unclear whether there are damages to any of the museum’s collections.
The flames were contained to the roof structure, where crews had been working.
The museum opened in 1988, offering a focus on “aspects of the cultures of Quebec.”
