America’s sweetheart is: Canada.
The news comes from a new survey which asked Americans to rate their favourite nations.
The Chicago Council on Global Affairs survey has been conducted since 1974.
It asked respondents to rate their feelings for other countries – with number one being the coldest and one hundred – the coziest.
Canada came out on top with a score of 79 per cent. Next was Britain at 74 per cent. Germany, Japan and France all scored in the 60’s.
America’s other neighbour, Mexico, came in at 54 per cent.
The survey also suggests people in the U.S. strongly support freer trade, military interventions in humanitarian crises, a global climate treaty, and diplomacy with hostile countries like Cuba, Iran and North Korea.
