Various media outlets are reporting that Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair is being courted to run for the Liberals in this year’s federal election. During year end interviews, the chief indicated he was planning to stay active in public service once his term as head of Canada’s largest police service ends April 25th.
Blair has issued a statement saying as long as he is chief, he cannot engage in any political activity. He says he’s been asked to consider a number of options for the future, but is committed to the job he has.
