An express train connecting Union Station to Pearson International Airport begins running June 6 … just in time for this summer’s Pan Am Games.

Premier Kathleen Wynne, Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca and Metrolinx President Bruce McCuaig rode the train this morning.

You may have noticed the trains undergoing testing the last few months.

They’ll run every 15 minutes for 19-and-a-half hours every day.

Tickets for the 25-minute ride will coast $27.50 each way or $19 with a Presto transit card.

The Union Pearson Express is expected to carry 2.35-million passengers a year by 2018.

The government predicts it’ll eliminate just over one million car trips to the airport in its first year alone.
