It’s not often there is agreement in the House of Commons, but its now happened twice in one week.

The governing Conservatives say they will support an NDP motion by Davenport MP Andrew Cash, to abolish banking fees charged to people who receive paper bills.

Finance Minister Joe Oliver says the government is backing the motion because people feel they are being nickel and dimed by the big banks.

The Harper government’s decision comes after unanimous approval was given last week in the House of Commons to a separate NDP motion to exempt feminine hygiene products from GST charges beginning July 1st.
