Some previously unknown drawings by Beatrix Potter have been found in Britain – during a clean-up of a National Trust property in Suffolk.
The four drawings were hidden inside books – and were discovered during conservation work.

Potter was the creator of Peter Rabbit.
She was a regular visitor to the stately home at Melford Hall – and was related to the family who lived there.
House manager Josephine Waters says she was moving a bookcase with a colleague –  and while going through some books they discovered a drawing tucked inside which was in a classic Potter style – and they immediately knew it was one of hers.
Waters says “it was an absolutely spine-tingling moment. All the hairs on the back of my neck stood up as we realized what we’d found.”
The drawings are set to go on display to the public.
