One of the city’s most recognizable symbols is getting a new home – in the same neighborhood.
The much-loved Henry Moore sculpture at the corner of Dundas and McCaul streets is being re-located to Grange Park – the expanse of grass and trees on the Art Gallery of Ontario’s south side.
The sculpture is named Two Large Forms – and since 1974 it’s sat at the AGO’s eastern corner – as a welcoming icon to generations of schoolchildren and other visitors arriving to tour the world famous gallery – with the swirl of a burgeoning metropolis growing up all around it.
Next year, the sculpture will be up-rooted and moved to Grange Park – as part of an $11 million dollar makeover – which will add playgrounds, a water feature, more trees and bigger expanses of greenspace.
