The only Canadian to bring home gold from the London Games four years ago, will carry the Canadian flag at the opening ceremony next month in Rio.
Rosie MacLennan says she looks forward to marching into the Maracana Stadium wearing the maple leaf, flanked by my incredible teammates.”
The 27-year-old will be the first trampolinist to do so.
Qualifying for the upcoming Olympics was nearly put in jeopardy last summer, after she suffered a concussion ahead of the Pan Am Games.
After winning her second straight Pan Am gold MacLennan scaled back her training in order to fully recover and confirmed her spot in Rio with a first-place performance at the Canada Cup in March.
