Character actor David Huddleston has died of heart and kidney failure at the age of 85.

Huddleston is best remembered for his role in the Coen brother’s 1998 film “The Big Lebowski” playing the real Lebowski opposite Jeff Bridges as “The Dude.”

Huddleston’s other film credits, over a 55-year career, include “The Fools’ Parade”, “Family Reunion” and “Bad Company”.  He had many guest appearance on TV shows like “Gunsmoke” and “The West Wing”.
