One of the world’s foremost harmonica virtuosos has died.
Belgium’s Toots Thielmans was 94.
His illustrious career included performing with numerous jazz greats – such as Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald – and his harmonica solos became part of many famous film scores including Midnight Cowboy.
The acclaimed musician also played guitar.
He stopped giving concerts in 2014 at age 92 – when health problems made it more and more difficult for him to take to the stage.
Thielemans died in his sleep in a Belgian hospital on Monday.
