One of the most celebrated film directors of all time, is set to produce a gritty and grounded prequel that focuses on the “The Joker.”
74 year old Martin Scorsese will take the helm of the film that will showcase one of the DC Universe’s most evil characters, with a history of torture and murder in the comic books.
But it apparently won’t involve Jared Leto the most recent Joker in the Toronto-shot Suicide Squad.
Deadline Magazine reports that Scorsese wants his Joker film to be more of a dark crime film than a traditional superhero adventure and plans to cast a younger actor to bring the iconic bad guy to life on screen.
No word yet on when shooting will begin or when the film might be released.
