TRUMP ENDING 'DREAMERS' PROGRAM, OBAMA CALLS MOVE 'CRUEL'

The Trump administration’s rescinding the so-called ‘Dreamers’ program, which protects from deportation, some immigrants who arrived illegally as children, looking to Congress for a solution.

In making the announcement, Attorney General Jeff Sessions says DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) was an ”unconstitutional exercise of authority by the executive branch.”
The Obama administration created the program in 2012 as a stopgap as the Democrats unsuccessfully pushed for a broader immigration overhaul.
U.S. Congress has repeatedly tried and failed to come up with such legislation and it’s uncertain if it will this time around.
Former president Barack Obama called the announcement ”cruel”.
