The flu season is virtually upon us after what medical officials say has been a slow start.
Hospitals haven’t been as busy with flu cases this holiday season as they have in the past.
The Director of Infection Prevention and Control at Mount Sinai Hospital says that is about to change with the peak in the next two to three weeks and running through the end of February into early March.
Doctor McGear also says time is running out for those who haven’t had a flu shot yet because the vaccine takes about two weeks to start working.  Over all however, Dr. McGear believes this year’s flu season will be milder than last year.
