CRYSTAL'S LEAD SINGER DEAD AT 74

The lead singer of the Crystals, one of the bands that helped construct Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound in the 1960s, has died after contracting the flu.

 

Barbara Ann Alston, who recorded hits like “Da Doo Ron Ron” and “Then He Kissed Me” remained active and involved with the band until just recently.

She was 74.
