What a comeback.
The Dow Jones industrial average closed up 669.40 points in New York to move to 24,202.60 – its biggest one-day gain since August 2015.
The Dow regained almost half of what it had given up last week – surging as worries of a trade war with China eased.
The S&P 500 index picked-up 70.29 points to 2,658.55 – and the Nasdaq was up 227.87 points.
Here at home, the S&P/ TSX saw mild gains and closed up 74.82 points – at 15,298.56 – helped by metals and energy stocks.
The Canadian dollar closed at 77.60, down 0.18 of a U-S cent.
Oil closed down 33 cents to $65.55 U-S per barrel – and the April gold contract closed up $5.10 to $1,355.00 U-S an ounce.
