This Saturday marks 3 months since Doug Ford became Ontario’s Premier.

And his 3 month report card gives him a 37 percent approval rating, according to the latest numbers from DART Insight and Communications. This means Ford would still win a majority government if a provincial election were held today.

And despite many controversial decisions since taking over from Kathleen Wynne, Ford’s approval rating has only fallen three percent from when he was elected June 7th.

His most notable and controversial move has been to cut Toronto City Council from 47 to 25 wards, and not shying away from using the notwithstanding clause in the charter of rights and freedoms to do so.

Ontario’s environmental commissioner meantime, is slamming the Doug Ford PC’s for dismantling the province’s cap-and-trade system without an effective climate change program to replace it.

Dianne Saxe has released a report saying the government’s decision could reverse the progress Ontario has made in cutting greenhouse gas emissions over more than a decade.

Environment Minister Rod Phillips says a more detailed climate change plan will be presented this fall and the environmental commissioner will be better able to judge then.
