Union negotiators for 50,000 employees at Canada Post say they will take a pass on the latest contract offers from the corporation, calling them “disappointing.”

The decision keeps alive the threat of a work stoppage as the busy holiday online shopping season approaches.

There is word from the Canadian Union of Postal Workers that the two separate offers tabled for rural and urban carriers included very small steps toward resolving some key issues.

Still, union president Mike Palacek says negotiators will stay at the table so long as there is progress in the talks.
