Robert Libman clutched his chest as he described the pain of losing his 75-year-old sister Joyce Fienberg as hundreds gathered for this morning’s service at Congregation Beth Shalom in Pittsburgh.
Libman says she was ”pure goodness.”
Fienberg’s sons, Anthony and Howard, says their mother spent five years caring for their father as he battled cancer, then following his death a few years ago, devoted more of her time and energy to the Tree of Life Synagogue.
They also say she would be angry that her funeral could not be held there.
Fienberg was one of 11 killed in the massacre — the deadliest attack on Jews in U.S. history.
Meanwhile, suspect Robert Bowers has been indicted by a federal grand jury.
It charges him with 44 counts, including hate crimes.
Federal prosecutors had previously indicated they intend to seek the death penalty.
