A study published in the Lancet Medical Journal, proves that the fact that the effective use of antiretroviral therapies completely eliminates the possibility of passing the disease on through sexual contact.

The study followed more than a 1,000 gay, male couples over eight years. The results add to a previous phase of the same study which found a zero risk of HIV transmission between heterosexual partners.
