DELICIOUS + SUMMER = SUMMERLICIOUS

Toronto’s Summerlicious is in full swing. In addition to delicious fixed menu meals offered by 200 restaurants, there’s a new twist for foodies this year that will tell the history behind Toronto’s flourishing food culture. Mayor John Tory kicked off the event by remarking that Toronto is the most diverse city in the world so why not celebrate that fact through food. The popular summer foodie event that began in 2003 as a way to boost the city’s diverse restaurant industry, during typically slow months. Since then, participating restaurants have served over 7 million meals. This year, experience Edible History Toronto. Organizer Chris Theofiloginnakos , food historian and historic interpreter with Mackenzie House Museum says the 2 hour walking tour along the  city’s historic Bond Street will serve up varied ethnic food and drink that will have foodies drooling.Now with more than half hour Toronto’s population born outside Canada, options for  for foodies is endless. SUMMERLICIOUS runs until July 21st and the EDIBLE HISTORY TOUR runs July 21st and again August 10th. For more information, visit
