If a high-level RCMP civilian employee, charged with stealing intelligence information was permanently pledged to secrecy as the charges would suggest, he’d have had access to some of the most sensitive government information.

47-year-old Cameron Ortis faces seven charges dating as far back as 2015, allegedly for trying to sell classified information to a foreign entity or terrorist group.
While the alleged or potential recipient is not known, Ortis is an East Asian affairs expert, who speaks Mandarin and who, according to sources, was former RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson’s top adviser.
Ortis was reportedly uncovered by American authorities who tipped off Ottawa.
His arrest is believed to be part of a wider operation involving NATO allies and the Five Eyes – Canada, the U.S., Britain, Australia and New Zealand.
The case returns to court Friday after the accused appeared yesterday by video link.
